Item Database - Sacrifical Shielding

Sacrifical Shielding Icon #39168 Allows the caster to focus their mental anguish on the target afflicting them with damage over time but also boosting their damage. In turn however the caster converts the targets pain into a shield for themselves. Sharing in the pain though means your own nano and offensive abilities will be much less effective for a time.

This is crazy in PvM. Mob gets an 800 point dot for 30 seconds. Chain casting this will OD chain casting MQ, altho it is generally a bad idea if the tank is an MA, Fixer, or Shade ;)

Also, this is pretty handy when soloing, as the mob gets 200 AR while DoT runs, and you get 250 AAD for 1 min, so during the second 30 seconds you effectively have 250 more defense.
dokott @ 2007-03-21 11:39
tobad it seems that I cant use any nano under the 30 second the DoT is ticking
"Recharge time 30s "
Yakobo66 @ 2007-03-21 14:20
lol and it blocks doctor dot line c... School Psionic: Doctor DOT line C
ziasod @ 2007-03-22 13:48
doesn't it mean the dot is a c line? instead of blocking?
Klodovik @ 2007-03-24 01:31
The only good PvP nano MPs got with 17.2. :(
Keex @ 2007-03-26 15:11
nope it overwrites doc line C dot, yay
Retracnad @ 2007-04-07 14:13
they get 800 point dot and 200 offense, you get 2500 AC's, 200 nano resist, 250 defense, 5 special attack absorbtion and 75% root and snare resist.... nasty
Steeplerot @ 2007-05-18 14:52
Spam this on all mobs in Inf mishes, good times.

Your doc suddenly thinks the MA's evades suck and your DD shoots through the roof. Nerf!
*evil grin*
Steeplerot @ 2007-05-18 14:55
Oh, one of the big downsides to this nano in mishes, 30 sec recharge means you have to stand there while you wait to ninja that phat pearl. =(
Mohamad @ 2007-06-18 07:41
Well this is bad to use in teams with a doc...but awesome when solo
Ilikebunnies @ 2007-07-21 09:41
I wish you could cast this on your attack pet :p
lpx @ 2007-07-26 12:15
actually bunnies there was a test version that castable on your pet.. but it never made it to the game.. so they had toyed with the idea.. i agree it would be nice.
Ilikebunnies @ 2007-10-13 22:18
That was sarcastic; actually being able to cast this on your pet would be pretty gay :o

Although you can cast it on yourself.. I wonder how much it helps to land perks (assuming the dot doesn't kill you)
Dancingrage @ 2008-01-01 13:36
TBH, casting an 800 dot on your pet woulda been a laugh on Whiner's 55k HP...especially post 17.7 with the new healdelta buff for the pet...and woulda given whiner some 200 AR, shame they couldn't make that happen for some reason related to the engine.
Arendel @ 2008-07-14 15:41
8500 VP
Halakazham @ 2008-11-16 04:43
Wish recharge was lower, but being able to get all of those adds casting it on yourself is really cool
Actonel @ 2009-01-06 17:38
i just do not understand why mp gets a line call doctor dot line c....
Boogyman @ 2009-04-07 20:11
To Nerf Doctors :( or something stupid like this...
mr_no_skill @ 2013-03-11 06:33
Actually as a doc i love this thing, the dot is stronger than my top line C dot, and when healing and being DD at the same time i dont have to cast my line C to use the viral attack perk which checks for all 3 lines running. Helps a bunch :)
