You've got to be kidding. -.-
cdogg421 @ 2006-08-29 22:58
think it will make MP's turn to this instead of panthers/pistols/SoD ect?
keneil @ 2006-08-29 23:13
If no docs are present then I guess this will make the MP a much better "healer". But as it will remove all his dmg potential (cept the demon of course :P ) I don't think this see much use...
Ph3n0x @ 2006-08-30 05:56
seems like you can right-click it from your inv if you have the skills required (BM/TS only), so.. you can keep the weapons you already have...
GruikGruik @ 2006-08-30 19:51
has this been tested? On Use User Upload Construct Empowerment, may give you the nano to boost pet's healing modifier and not being forced to equip this weapon.

bleh, nerf phenox^
Ephram @ 2006-08-30 20:11
Empowers the Mortificant healing construct to heal more efficiently. You must be wielding the Healing Staff of Alcofribas Nasier to make use of this nanoformula.

Looks like it's damage or heals for the MP
Jahf @ 2006-08-30 21:50
"Looks like it's damage or heals for the MP"

If it works as it sounds, then the MP just needs to use a main weapon that they can self-equip. Then they can equip this long enough to cast the nano every 30 minutes and switch back to their main weapons.

So its a trade-off, but not an either/or situation.
Klodovik @ 2006-08-30 22:09
"If it works as it sounds, then the MP just needs to use a main weapon that they can self-equip."

I'm yet to find a MP that can self-equip his/her main weapon at the targeted level this staff is supposed to be used. ;)
malewerecat @ 2006-08-31 11:34
I'm betting this is a creation weapon.
Stormstrider @ 2006-08-31 23:27
"I'm yet to find a MP that can self-equip his/her main weapon at the targeted level this staff is supposed to be used. ;)"

My 212 MP uses FBR/Pained panther, both self equipable. Not going to up 2hblunt though...
alder @ 2006-09-01 08:56
my mp dual wields ai pistols. with css, which i dont have yet, i'll still need ep, pistol mastery and a wrangle to eqip a ql300 type1.
i have no problem to tell other players that my pet ist the way it is and of course i wont the fuck skill 2hb.

so this is another example of creation-weapon-crap to me.

and btw: if fc would like to see us heal better they would have given us a better pet. jep - there is some space fom 207 upwards
Klodovik @ 2006-09-02 00:46
BTW, u can get this as a reward (MP only. NTs and traders get their new nanos) if you complete Anansi story - Assault on the Anansi part of 16.3 Inferno quests.

P.S. I wish they remove that "must be wielding" req. cos it's already hard enough to get hold of. :(
wooshell @ 2006-09-04 13:09
I wish there was at least a 1HB alternative version to be got... i would be willing to swap my Asmodian for this staff, but I'm not going to remove my hard twinked-on alien hammer. The 12% healing efficiency is easily cancelled out by the longer time to kill a mob because of one damage person less..
Dekadencia @ 2006-09-05 10:17
This is crap for all of us, who are using any other weaps than 2hb. Pardon me, but let me give an ask: any of you know any MP, who are using 2hb at apropriate lvl? ... I don't think so. So thx FC for another useless weaps, thx thx thx.
Siaynoque @ 2006-09-06 12:05
As a nanomage, I can't (or won't) solo at all... I play mainly as a "support MP", so every HP heal counts. I will sacrifice my gimp weapon damage for this "buff weapon" :)
Grassica @ 2006-09-15 17:24
Im a 220 ME MP and Im not Reseting for a 2HB weapon ..anytime soon ..Completely useless in my Opinion
Ryugu @ 2006-09-16 17:20
not worth it IMHO
Yakobo66 @ 2006-09-20 23:47
If they removed the must be wearing MP's would use it maybe :|
liljen @ 2006-09-30 20:10
well - if you dual SoD and Skylight - you could hotswap this. Since those can be self equipped. But... :/ 2hb is a big nerf. I really wish we would get a green weaponskill, and that it would NOT be 2hb.
I would also be happy if I could use infantery syms.. Maybe the devs could make up for all out blue weapon skills by letting us choose from all syms :)
alder @ 2006-10-15 07:15
ahh - i'm just in the mood to flame...
lets put some math to this fabulous brand new item fc gave us (and no - even if it requires a weapon skill to equip i will never call a 1-1(1) item a weapon)

with soothing spirits 10 perked mortificant will heal 1216-1694 every 7.5 seconds ( http://auno.org/ao/db.php?id=215997 ) adding the generously +12% heal modifier the pet will have an additional 146-203 healoutput - isnt that great?
speaking of the +200 nano init granted to the thankful wearer - at the time when you will be able to do the mission required to get your hands on this nano you will probably be well over 1200 nano init so any additional init will initernally be divided by 3 leaving you with effectively +66 nano init. -0.33 sec casting time to your nanos.... yay! this will bring you even closer to insta cast nsd at full agg nsd-bitch.

i'm voting for patching this crap out - it simply isnt worth the space the database enty requires on my hard disk.
Aerya @ 2006-11-19 13:07
2he?? 1-1(1) dmg?? No way I'm going to equip this on my MP... She's doing good with dual AI pistols...
Voriuste @ 2006-12-04 11:21
At least with this you've got a damn attack rating... NTs' dont with decks, you should be happy you dont have 200% NP vs 0% Evade-Clsc...
Voriuste @ 2006-12-04 11:22
erm, 0% NP vs 200% Evade-Clsc, dont you hate it when you're half alseep and type things the wrong way around**
Dancingrage @ 2007-02-08 20:04
This weapon has been edited in 17.1.1 to have a damage range of 280-400 (280), which beats the howlet down for damage, and actually makes this weapon (and I can call it that now) a viable choice for those 2hb nuts. Though there's not too many 2hb folks around atm, but if you decide to go that route, you actually have a weapon you can use and have your healpet still have 12% more healing.
crazyc94 @ 2007-02-13 21:37
I would like to call attention to the attack skills: "Time and space 80 % 2h Blunt 20 %" An orgmate of mine ran some calcs, and said she believes that this weapon possesses the highest possible endgame Attack Rating for an MP. Simpy because we have so darn much Time and Space. I believe she said something close to 2.5k AR self (don't quote me on that, it's been a couple days since she ran the calcs).

On a side note: The Scheol quest nano for the mezz pet works while wielding this staff as well (+80 AR for the mezz pet).
Dancingrage @ 2007-03-20 00:55
WTB 1hb versions of this for SoA soloists however. While the AR can be insane on this revamped bad boy, it's still leaving those folks who use Shield of Asmodian for defense out in the cold with some crappy AI hammer. On top of that there's MPs who're considering a dual loadout with pvm/pvp stats with the new and spiffy Dreadloch Tigress for MPs...and a 1hb version of these sticks would rock for the pvm (soloist) part.
GoDofUSA @ 2007-03-21 17:24
I just got this weapon, it is AMAZING!

low requirement for 2hb, and we need TS maxed anyway. Currently at 212 and I am doing 1200 a hit, critting for 2400+. The 12% healing bonus it adds to morty (Construct Empowerment nano) is great for soloing.

For PvP, I will be using the Dreadloch Tigress, as using this staff saves loads of ip.

The quest is kind of a pain though, I recommend having a crat and doc for each part as there are lots of adds.
Chesh @ 2007-04-07 21:59
After I found out this weapon was changed before it was reflected upon AUNO, I thought about it for a while before deciding to give it a try. My toon started out as a Froob and I used my full IPR before this item was fixed (curse you, FC!) so I would have only been wasting IP if it didn't work out... but in the end, it wasn't much to spend. T&S was already doable, 2HB was capped below requirements on a 209 Soli. A wrangle and 2HB buff made it possible to equip it. The other issue with IP spending was getting Melee Init back up, but the thing that surprised me was that I was able to get Melee Init higher than Ranged Init before I hit the cap on both.

My first thoughts: HOLY ATTACK RATING! It was nearly double what I had before while using Flux Pistols. (QL240/245, the MR was starting to get REALLY painful to spend on) Perk attacks started landing every time on mobs in 220 Easy Inf mishes, a missed hit doesn't have as much of a penalty as other, slower weapons since attack is 1.6s. But with the nice AR on the staff, you rarely, if ever, miss.

Because we can easily buff our T&S, this means our nano buffs also affect Attack Rating, which is a very, very, very nice thing to be able to do. I have yet to update some Symbs and finish some Research lines, so I think I could easily break 1800 AR as-is, but here's the current stats for you:

214 Soli MP, T&S: 1682, 2HB: 828, 1550 Attack Rating (unbuffed)
With CNE, CME, CAB, CMoch, and Odin's: T&S: 1893, 2HB: 858, 1725 Attack Rating (self buffed)
I've seen it get over 1900 during Inf mishes.

Reflections: Decent damage, though it seems the majority of the time you're hitting for minimum with Poison damage type. Some basic damage stats:

AR at 1550: Normal: 1119 to 1436, Crit: 2139 to 2470 (On RK mobs)
AR at 1725: Normal: 1127 to 1446, Crit: 2167 to 2476 (On RK mobs)

Never bothered to grab numbers while unbuffed in these other examples, but there's really not much to see considering damage seems to be floored in SL onward. Only other time I see variances is
Chesh @ 2007-04-07 22:06
during AI City Raids.

In SL and LE Mishes: 1119 normal, 2037 crit. Tends to be pretty consistent and flat.

In the end, it was worth it for me just to get the AR way up there, reperking to add more perk attacks to use will definitely help get your damage total up since the attacks will be resisted less often. In your typical Inferno mish, I went from approaching about 50-65% of the top damage dealers to closer to 75-85% of the top damage dealers. (However, teaming with shades will always make you feel like a gimp again. heh) In another 220 Easy that was more healer and pet type based, I was almost tied with a 201 Soldier. I ended up ODing the 220 Engi.

In the end, worth it for me as I mostly do PvM. If you do PvP, you may want to work on something else, especially something with a load of specials... and if you're truly serious about damage, might as well work your way up to Dreadloch. For myself, though? Yeah. I'm glad I went with the staff despite its potential drawbacks (nothing else to upgrade to after this, no specials)

Morti heals for about 1600-1800 normally, but with the nano, closer to 1800-2000 per hit. Not a huge increase, but most of the time... every little bit helps.
Dancingrage @ 2007-04-08 04:47
The really interesting thing about the damage type is that it also happens to be the same as the Dreadloch Tigress, so for those considering dual loadouts (like myself) then it's a lot easier on the wallet, since you only need one type of Arul Saba set to have increased damage in both weapons. Happy Hunting.
Chesh @ 2007-04-09 05:27
Dreadloch Raid, 2046 AR with team buffs:

You hit Death Squad for 1614 points of poison damage.
You hit Death Squad for 1553 points of poison damage.
You hit Death Squad for 1620 points of poison damage.
You hit Death Squad for 1705 points of poison damage.
You hit Death Squad for 1734 points of poison damage.
You hit Death Squad for 1546 points of poison damage.
You hit Death Squad for 1645 points of poison damage.
You hit Death Squad for 1612 points of poison damage.
You hit Death Squad for 2123 points of poison damage.Critical hit!

Not too shabby. Part of it was various debuffs the team had running, otherwise it's about 1400 flat damage and 2100 critical.
Chesh @ 2007-04-09 05:35
Sorry for the double post here, mistyped in previous. This is my min damage at 2046 AR with no additional (team or otherwise) debuffs running on the mob:

You hit Death Squad for 1412 points of poison damage.
You hit Death Squad for 2337 points of poison damage.Critical hit!
alder @ 2007-09-03 12:41
due to the mp uselessness i resettet (body-dev, nano-pool, pistol, fling, burst, mr, evades, nano-init, nano-resist) mine and maxed tradeskills (can do pristine 300 ai-armor.. and combined ofc), cmo whoring still possible.
i use him for hunting rk mobs so i thought "well get this staff to do a little more damage to them"

hermmm:
!logon You got healed by healpet for 1456 points of health.
Anansi Storyteller hit spanky for 6767 points of radiation damage.Critical hit!
: Alder's pet, healpet: Hurry back, master! I won't survive on my own...
Anansi Storyteller hit you for 8646 points of fire damage.Critical hit!

1400 heal versus 8k crits - i see why the healing staff is so important ^^
alesicis @ 2007-10-06 02:24
yup, blows everything else out of the water
Dancingrage @ 2007-11-17 05:20
Hey, there's something interesting for those folks who liked the support stick coming up. New 2hb support shield. 17.7 has in the db rip a shield that has, naturally, crap damage, sets cyberdeck like this 2hb stick does, and has insane defensive capacity...think DoF and RRFE with 8hr duration. Cross fingers and watch this space for the link!
Dancingrage @ 2007-12-22 14:56
AUNO needs to update the database...Shield of Zset is out for those who used 2hb and held the faith...FC rewarded you with a shield that gives 30 reflect acs, 660 aad, and good ACs/NR. I was fooling around and was smacking around the Anansi Disciple which hits about as hard as the Storyteller for 10m before my own foolishness (forgot to pull farther back) caught up with me....hello MP as new evade prof!
Threeze @ 2008-02-27 02:47
does this have any use now that people actually have 850 ip in 2hb?
Threeze @ 2008-03-07 18:39
meh ignore that
Dancingrage @ 2008-05-13 00:21
Ah, another update:

Expecting a new creation weapon for 2hb, should round out the set, and lo and behold, the staff incoming is made to copy the tigress damage and attack/recharge template, and upload an attack pet buff when used. Still needs 850 2hb and lots of TS, but not that hard to put on.

"Aggressive Staff of Julian Redfire" look forward to it!
Erxi @ 2009-10-31 01:58
How`s this item aquired?
Deadlykis @ 2010-01-28 12:59
Erxi you need to do a inferno quest... it can be doned fast but it will require some help on it^^
you got info here: " http://www.ao-universe.com/main.php?site=knowledge&link=2&id=232 "
shaynd @ 2011-09-12 17:33
