You gain time, perk recharge, you team, friends.. can hit, if you are a melee MP (or engi) your pet keeps hitting the target.

afaik this is outside the normal stun nanoline, with 100% stun resistance it still stuns me, so if timed well you could run a lot of perks during those 5s, and there's not a lot a doc or anyone else can do about it.
