Do Free Movement stims work against this root?

yes.. in fact it's the only thing that works on it as far as i know you can't break this with nano based root reducers or rage (enforcers) is a awesome perk and professions like fixers, crats, enf's are'nt ready to deal with correctly because most use reducers and dont carry free movement.. i wish it resisted those stims as well because it's a very short root and one shot of the stim breaks it easy.

btw i noticed today it's mislabled.. the perk says it locks for Recharge, 1 minute 40 seconds.. but it actually locks for 2mins and 40 seconds.. it has a duration of 1min if you add the duration with the recharge you get what the actual lock time is.. i dont know if this is intended or not because other perks that say recharge means recharge after it's used not after the end of hte duration.

is this root breakable?

I also noticed it doesn't give any agro.. as in, you can root an aggressive mob which wasn't in combat, and it still doesn't attack you. Also, you can root dynas, and the root always lasts for the full 60s.

is it removable from pets?

1x free movement can drop this root. I also believe that root reduce nanos can as well, along with ancient spirit purges.

Unfortunately as this perk is a root, like all roots it can be resisted by high root resist profs such as advy, fixer and keeper, meaning even if the perk is successful, it may not root the target and not allow the DD perk to land.

The DD perk is really nice, I've used it before. But like Whitey mentioned, getting the root to land on root resist profs is a no go a high % of the time. Which means the DD perk is too situational to be any good imo.

I'd only invest 3 pts into Theoretical Research, the DD perk is not worth it.
