This appliance was made by Libetiath. It can be used to turn one of the weapons of the Unredeemed against themselves. Libetiath was not particularly pretty, but her eyes were fantastic. It was said that nobody that hid a lie could meet her look. She could see lies like others can see shadows. They called her 'The Star of the Forest', because she lived in a glade by herself. That is; when she was not out hunting.
When she was fully grown she was visited one night by a strange woman, and the next day she had felt her vocation. She was a tool for the righteous, tracking down and killing the most deceitful of the enemies of the Redeemed. She was totally uncorrupted, a beacon for her people.
The word about her reached the ears of the council of the Seven Shepards, and they called for her. She came, and they were astounded by her, and by her skills. They gave her gifts and they gave her a special position among the Redeemed.
But, Libetiath had fallen in love with one of the Seven Shepards, and she did not dare to show it. She came back to her people, and they asked her what had changed her; had she fallen in love? Then, for the first time, Libetiath told a lie herself. She denied that she was in love. Immediately a shadow fell over her eyes, and she fled from her people. After that day she was never seen again.
