oresteez @ 2005-02-15 20:21
ummm..1 second recharge time? so....compared to a sword with a 2 second recharge time...this sucker does 100-240 damage right? if i'm correct..that's amazing!

not realli, compare to stygian and forst scythe, this aint that good. And with good int, u can get the stygian to do bout 1/1 anyway.

donger @ 2005-08-25 01:46

lostlife @ 2005-10-29 23:35
what do you think would be a good level, as an enforcer, to start soloing lien?
|
donger @ 2005-12-29 19:41
like 50 if u have all expansions and moderately twinked
|
Aldornaq @ 2006-01-08 10:37
However by level 50 this weapon will be far from good anymore =)

"not realli, compare to stygian and forst scythe, this aint that good. And with good int, u can get the stygian to do bout 1/1 anyway."
this is much better than styg. at the level you can still get into ToTW there is no WAY you can get enough init to be able to deal out much more than 1.7 / 1.8k dmg, especially since the recharge on the styg is just over 3 sec.
Well, in damage calc you should be able to do over 1k dmg w/o being OE with this. Now considering you can dual wield the skull of woe - like Tumy suggested, thats 2k dmg in ten sec means this is far from BAD at level 50, and also much better (and also much easier to get) than the styg.
|
bugi @ 2006-05-02 16:52
hmm... just in case someone takes the idea from Whitey's figures that dualing would double the damage output.. it doesn't. With one skull, its about 30 attacks per minute (1 attack per 2 secs); with two skulls, its supposed to be something like 40 attacks per minute (2 attacks per 3 secs), but afaik, there are something going on and dual attacks seem to have hard time reaching the peak rate. In any case, theorically 1/3 more total damage for dualling similar weapons.
|
bugi @ 2006-05-02 16:56
hmm hmm... well, theoretically, if a weapon has timings e.g. 1s/4s (long recharge, fast attack), _then_ the benefit from dualling gets relatively bigger. For that 1/4 example; single weapon gets 12 hits per minute; dualed weapons would get total 20 hits per minute; for an improvement of 2/3 more damage.
But these skulls aren't such weapons.

Sweetchutney @ 2007-02-27 01:52
shame one skull doesn't add brawling and one fast attack..
|
Exossy @ 2008-03-17 17:51
I did some calculations with this vs the Stygian, with same amount of AR etc the differance was:
Stygian Desolator = 1160 dmg over 10 seconds.
Skull of Lamentation = 720 dmg over 10 seconds.
Dual wielded skulls = 900 dmg over 10 seconds.
So the Stygian does about 20% more dmg than dual wielded skulls. Though, +dmg items are more effective on fast weapons, so proffesions that don't have much +dmg buffs would be better off with Stygian, but proffesions with +dmg buffs they would be about the same.

what does a 1hb fr00b mp use after these???
|
Flatvia @ 2010-01-19 09:59
skull of woe I guess
|
NoFreshAir @ 2011-06-29 10:56
Since this weapon is 1sec recharge and attack is there any point to putting ip into Melee init?
|
aocat @ 2011-11-07 23:48
I didn't spend much time calcing or anything, but this is basically equal to a QL 50 Ofab Panther Mk 6... only main difference is split damage types on the skulls, slightly higher MM on this, specials on the Panther, (and ofc the Panther looks way cooler (but is tougher to get)). Not trying to say one is better than the other, just throwing it out there. The two weapons literally performed almost equally in the auno damage calc, considering everything, so it doesn't much matter.
