at least 1 part to build this drops in hollow island, i dont think you should go there while being lvl 120

You don't necessarily need to kill the sapling mobs yourselves... just wait until there's a raid and ask nicely ;)

Just in case you havent noticed, this guns isnt just for engineers:) Anyone can make and use this gun, just reset 1 skill when you have it leveld to 200 and your set.

actually mpluv, any with the tradeskills to make this weapon is a gimp if they are not fixer or trader...and fixer uses SMG and traders use shotgun or martial arts...

Lets see, many a pistol user's (like docs, some MPs, whonot) high level target (roughly) http://auno.org/ao/db.php?id=254623 (ql200 kyr'ozch pistol). Compare it to this one.. (Note that alien pistol needs skill 1335 + some fling, while this pistol needs only pistol 1000; scale that alien pistol up or down if you want, you can still compare to this pistol). Not saying that e.g. doc with this "engi-pistol" would be the best thing to have/do/use, but certainly not a "gimp" choice, either. Far from it. And traders, some fixers, (and why not even some docs, that have for some weird reason gone for tradeskilling :P) can use this as tradeskill buffing item, too.

Granted the gimpy part may come from the IP usage into tradeskill to make this, but hey.. if you have used your brains while played your toon upto TL6, you'll have 20+ RPs to waste. Alas, what it looks like, 99% of people don't bother using their brains (excluding "veterans" who have RPs left due to other reasons).

Ups. You can, of course, have non-typed version of that alien pistol, thus dropping the fling-requirement.

God damn, The Medusa Hippocampus is so damn hard to get your hands on. Nobody's ever doing the raids when I go there, or when I login to my org. Hard to get anyone interested too. I'd do anything to get this last piece for my pistol

My setup: ql 177 type - 1 Alien Pistol / Solar-Powered Master Engineer Pistol
Results:
- At my ranged init, I'm at full speed with the alien pistol at 33% agg/dev and full speed with the SPM engi pistol at 66%.
- Alien pistol out damages the SPM engi pistol in the shadowlands, but SPM engi pistol out damages the alien pistol on Rubi-Ka by far.

I love this weapon, it's enough to not level in order to have an excuse to keep using it. Not to mention how long it took to build it.

And Mist-filled Jar is harder to get than disposal unit electrical toolset right now. Could be because everyone knows about the R2000 mob and have it on timer, and there's drops from Jack legchopper in Varmint woods, and nobody knows what the mist-filled jar is for, drops in missions from what I've been told, got mine as a gift.

and the Mist-Filled Jar also has to be of the right QL (IE, above a certain one :-p). I gave one of those Jars to a friend once but it was too low for the pistol :-(

The Mist-Filled Jar needs to be at least QL 90. It's a random drop in missions.

wintypes, you might want to look up Giraldi Crystals. They buff up to 125 points of Tutoring

Funny thing is that traders can use this.

This is an excellent pistol for traders. You just gotta have one. Ultra easy to put on at TL6. I use only pistol on my trader and I wouldn't leave home without it.

This gun sucks for anything but making into one of the higher engineer pistols.
