Item Database - Sandy Piece of Goo

Sandy Piece of Goo This piece of Sandy Goo seems to wriggle in your hand and avoids your probing fingers. You could perhaps wrap it around your wrist to hold it still, since it is messing up the contents of your backpacks and it is generally annoying to carry around a piece of wriggling Goo. It is simply not very popular with the opposite gender. Or the same gender. Or Atroxes. It probably attracts flies, bugs and scavenging birds as well. Not to mention what your mother said about Goo. Anyways, when worn it keeps pulling and pushing your arm into random contortions and positions, but that could perhaps be useful in some situations.

where do you get this?
Nesik @ 2005-07-25 04:39
A high level fixer in my guild has this, says she got it off Sandworms in Mortarion. Being a MA, these are dreamy next to arul's of course.
Pyros_15000 @ 2005-08-11 15:38
I recently got mine from Sandworm in the desert north of ToTW.
OICW @ 2005-10-09 05:21
To be more precise north west of totw very nice considering the effort, took me half an hour to get 2 of these.
soladoc @ 2005-10-13 22:32
Any cords? i fly arround where u guys sad with map and nothing..
pter666 @ 2005-11-15 02:46
theres sandworms north of borg camp at mort its a bit north of crater (thats a lot of north)
angryphase @ 2005-11-21 17:14
Two of these adds 24 to all evades.... 24! These are going on a 110 evade twink for some serious love.
tegrere @ 2005-12-14 06:22
not bad! froob MA dream
lpx @ 2006-01-24 01:05
a nice bracer, but be warned if you go hunting sandworms make sure you either have a high RS or very good evades. those things move like a bat outta hell and my mp with 500rs could'nt outrun them. it's interesting that while they hit with melee they have a range of aprox 20meters
Kplayona @ 2006-01-29 17:29
im sure that u can get these on at level 80 or so... at level 60 i was able to get 350 of each but im sure i can get those on waaaay sooner then level 110
Daylanee @ 2006-02-23 19:38
Does this still drop? Hunting for it in the north of Greater Tir County and no luck so far ... or is the drop rate so bad?
vlada @ 2006-02-23 23:23
its kinda rare but i got 2 today after half an hour of killing(25+ worms) also got the boots which are quite nice :)
Techro @ 2006-03-24 13:18
took almost 3 hours to get one pair. boots and shoulderplates were more frequent drops
Pheros @ 2006-04-10 13:14
every 6 worms a goo, pads kinda same.... boots are more rare.... drops all northwest greater tir country
Yakobo66 @ 2006-05-29 18:07
wish they would fix the parry/rispote skills
Ginsumaster @ 2006-09-10 10:07

Backstapper @ 2006-11-10 14:37

Gimpeline @ 2007-02-03 20:51
Been hunting sandworms for 12 hours now and still no goo :(.
Zinrax @ 2007-02-19 14:31
1½ hours of killing sandworms north of totw got me 2 Piece of Goo and 3 boots but the boots are uniqe so no need for more then one of those :)
Zinrax @ 2007-02-19 14:32
oh well one hour and thirty minutes that is..
patron1 @ 2007-02-19 15:25
20 min's hunting in NW corner of Tir County=2 x Piece of Goo, and 1 pair of boots ; )
Dancingrage @ 2007-03-03 11:30
Didn't take long to get two of 'em for my MP, so drop rate can'\t be that horrible.
Ilikebunnies @ 2007-03-09 03:20
I found one off the third kill. :)
The sandworms I found were northwest of totw, over the giant mountain, pretty close to the edge of the game world (and around lvl 130).
multicore @ 2007-03-25 00:42
The droprate is kinda good considering the other camping items..
and besides that you will probably find only yourself camping the item i you go there

The best areas are at the map border.
samuel1001 @ 2007-05-15 03:35
very top of map north west behind wall. i zone to the west out of tri found one sandworm 1kill droped boots. zoned back into greater tri went north to south then a little east not to far then back north and south killing sandworms in about 8 kills got Sandy Piece of Goo the levels range from 130 to 132 chem damage. hardest part was finding them good luck
Rico99 @ 2007-06-20 02:28
I found the best way of dealing with worms is to fly over them taget them and as you dropp turn on the attacks, if you run towards them they hit from a massive range (quite hard too!).
As everyone has said here drop rate is good, I've killed 6 so far and have 1xgoo,1x boots and 2 pads however at my lvl they are hard work, I have to draw them away from others and attack 1on1 and never without my dimach on standby. ;)
Jornado @ 2008-01-22 22:12
easy hunting for lvl 130+ with expansions, low drop on the goo tho, ended up dropping 5 shoulders and 3 boots (wtf is with the unique tag on those >.<) before getting goo - goo dropped twice in a row thereafter.... :/
bjohansen @ 2008-02-08 01:24
got one after 15mins.. and the other one after 1min from a engie who didnt need it :)
frox2k6 @ 2009-05-21 15:11
Got one of everything after 30 minutes, it's not just "North" it's Northwest, past the rocks near the tower site (RK2) all in the upper west of the ToTW area past the mountain rocks.
Mucalytic @ 2009-11-03 19:49
I've been hunting sandworms in northwestern tir county for three days now and no drops of this. Plenty of shoulderpads and boots but not this. I'm very annoyed!
Mucalytic @ 2009-11-03 22:22
Yay finally got one!
Mcgellin @ 2010-05-02 08:07
mmmm looks like my shade will need these lil beautys
Troika @ 2010-06-01 11:00
could an L80 keeper kill the worms?
kaliiber @ 2010-07-05 16:07
Killed 31 sandworm:
3rd kill - bracer
7th kill - boots
26th kill - shoulder plate

Either bad luck or just not very good droprate.
kaliiber @ 2010-07-05 16:07
Sandworm are around lvl 130.
taipan @ 2010-10-20 19:04
Whats the max level these would be usable? Not sure are 24 evades and little bit of armor worth much.
taipan @ 2010-11-27 16:04
Got 2 of these and 2 shoulder items and boots in half hour. Very easy to get. Drops from sandworms at the far corner of north west TOTW region.
Brokewrench @ 2012-04-26 17:00
Tip for farming Goo:
Do NOT stop at northwestern totw desert area. Keep heading West until you zone into Varmint Woods. This small desert patch has 4 Sandworms that share 5 Respawn points. It doesn't sound like much..but, after being killed, they respawn in 5-10 seconds at one of the 5 respawn points at random. If you do a circle around the inner perimeter of the desert patch (Don't go up any hills) you will hit all 5 points.

Keep in mind that if you do not kill them immediately upon spawning...they do tend to wander a far distance from spawn. They also have a tendency to respawn at the exact same spot you just killed them from..which can be an issue if all 4 are at the same spot. Bring some form of CC (Calm, Snare, etc) or be higher level.

Was able to gather 6 Goos in a couple hours following this pattern. The main advantages are always knowing where they will be, how many there should be, and the fact there's only 1 vulture so your mini map doesn't flood with red dots. Pretty much constant fighting with a couple seconds run between each spot.

Good luck.
Kir @ 2015-04-13 02:21
When I came first to sandworms, I've got 2x Goo after FOUR kills! Today I killed like 80 of them - not a single drop of Goo O_o
