Item Database - Augmented Hellfury Assault Cannon

Augmented Hellfury Assault Cannon Icon #154362 This unique design from the cyborg Techleader Praetor is an anti-armor device. Creating chaotic balls of energy, it not only inflicts terrible damage, but will occasionally burn through radiation-based defenses.
A Pulsing Notum Disruptor has been added to this weapon. This modifies the balls of energy to carry a notum-disrupting signature that will occasionally strip away Protection school nanos on the target.

Now all funcom has to do is let this gun pop fixers out of their GA armor;)
chaosgyro @ 2003-06-29 12:40
Is there some catch to this one? If not, why do I only see people running around with what appears to be the inferior Hellspinners?
Dextrox @ 2003-06-29 22:17
The Augmented Hellfury has a burst recharge of roughly 8 seconds. It does do less normal damage than the Augmented Hellspinner, but when it comes to alpha's the Hellfury beats everything out. Also, in PvP it can drop enforcers damage shields, RRFE, TMS, and NS. Its quite the strong weapon.
Waikaishi @ 2003-07-01 11:19
Which mob drop the base gun ?...
evilprince78 @ 2003-12-22 01:37
cyborg hellfury at the cyborg barracks roughly the ones carrying the hellfury itself but I believe that all cyborg hellfury will drop it but drop rate is heavliy gimped (thx to funcom for that one)
Sypiken @ 2004-09-22 09:30
If youre LF this weap the droprate is quite the opposite of gimped. Found 10 when visiting TIR Cyborg camp in 30 min.
Sypiken @ 2004-09-22 09:31
And imagine they let lvl 100 soldier's powerfully OD both this and Hellspinner now. (Nerf Peren weap's)
willy18 @ 2004-11-03 22:33
is this better then the ql 200 perinnium blaster
Ruperto @ 2005-07-27 05:01
how do you get your stats high enough to use this?
what buffs
mastery
expertise
.....
orfy @ 2005-07-28 10:43
By rhe time you meet the level-reqs, you'll be gimpped if you dont meet the reqs unbuffed...
Eomaia @ 2005-10-17 05:09
This weapon is in no way superior to the SPB when it comes to raw damage. Does about 2/3rds the normal and specials.
Shojumaru @ 2006-01-27 19:30
And this also can't FA... But it still makes a very solid fr00b gun.
Xsonic @ 2006-05-28 23:58
User Level >= 190
dude. gimme a break.. is that what i think it is?
Venderim @ 2006-06-14 18:46
I'm afraid so.....could easily be equipped on a level 140, much earlier with proper twinkage, it kinda devalues this gun as at level 190 you'll have much better options (unless you're froob).
Sferykal @ 2006-11-06 10:02
This gun is probably one of the best assault rifles for froobie soldiers, if not even the best. It outdamages it's counterpart, the Augmented Hellspinner (specials recycle way too slow on Hellspinner).
Venderim @ 2007-01-23 06:32
Its nice to strip off rrfe against other profs when duelling them in PvP :)
Sferykal @ 2008-05-23 14:07
Maybe a more detailed comment, after having used this gun for quite some time now on my froob soldier
(btw. all the comments here are within the froob soldier context, expansion players have way better toys to deal damage with :-)

On normal mobs this gun is superior to the Augmented Hellspinner, but it requires a more aggressive aggdef-setting to run at 1/1; which means it's for example the gun to use in team missions. For soloing the Hellspinner is better: It deals less damage, but you run at a way more defensive setting, evading more hits and thus need less healing (Blackbirds are best for this kind of stuff, though).

The other point where the Hellspinner is a better deal are high AC enemies and/or low hit chances, because then the higher min. damage of the Hellspinner can play out it's strengths. As an assault rifle soldier you will have both Burst and FullAuto, anyway, so you can swap between these two guns depending on the context you operate in.

If you like to use many specials and are not neutral, then the turnspirit guns might interest you (Cooperator / Spastic); their overall damage is lower than the Hellfury, but they are perfect for when mobs go down fast.

The Pulsing Notum Disruptor is obtained from the Notum Soldier, who is stationed in EFP to guard a bridge and has some nasty tricks under her belt (like wiping your NCU).
doctorhyde @ 2008-09-10 21:53
100% drop lately for me ... out of my last 4 kills in the barracks on the 2 Augmented Cyborg Hellfuries who are parked in the same room with the Prototype Inferno I've gotten 4 'fury cannons.
deanarthur @ 2008-12-11 22:30
Walked in with a 107 M.A. and 86 Enfo. Dropped on 1st kill. Logged off then logged on 1 hour later and killed again, bang another one. Then some high level idiot came running for help with about 10 cyborgs. I lasted about 7 minutes before my toons bit the bullet.
