You know you can use Neutron Displacers to etch storage patterns into Pure Carbon Crystals - it's for making nano programs. The displacers are found in most super markets now, and they're perfectly legal to use. They work only on Rubi-Ka as far I know, as you know nano technology is somewhat easier to use here than on most other worlds. It's literally 'something in the air'. (For the ignorants among you: This something is called Notum particles).
Me and Pollyjella did some experiments with those displacers, where we disabled some controller thingy that makes sure the displacers are only used on the 'right' size of crystals. Doing this we could etch patterns into other carbon materials. Most of the results we got from doing this were useless, and the displacers were always lost (we had 'found' plenty of them tho, so we had plenty to waste)
At first we used them only on cheap objects, but as we tested more we tried also at expensive objects, like Tank Armors. And we got results. I am not quite sure what the displacer does to it, but I've heard that Tank Armors have some kind of instant, regenerative effect - it's part of what make them so strong. My theory is that some kind of resource inside the armor is used to achieve this effect, and that the new neutron patterns opens up this resource to 'overflow' or something (the humming you sometimes hear from it could indicate this). Whatever it does - the main effect is that the Tank Armor allows your nanobots to flow more easily (I think they follow the patterns).
Of course there's a side effect: The Over-Tuned Tank Armor doesn't last too long before it dissolves - but that time is more than long enough for me during my 'operations'. Anyway, here's the method, simple as that. You need:
1.Neutron Displacer
2. Any Tank Armor
3. Skill
