actually shenia, pow wow has a longer AS recharge. so not necessarily a pfft especially if your an ma and just use it for pvp. then this > pow wow
dougflutie @ 2006-05-18 05:43

lol at using these bows in pvm"

Its not as stupid as it seems. I use pow bow at pvm on my MA. It helps a lot. On single mission i use AS opening (up to almost 8k dmg) then swap to fists and finish mob. Sometimes could be used to pull mobs also. On team mission it can be used when u re a tank; AS opening, then swap to fists, brawl, special and there is now way u can loose aggro.

what's the Aimed Shot cap speed? and how much Aimed Shot skill do you need to acquire it? By the way; I'm a 216/AI14 opi MA using a ql179 Professional Sapphistic Bow, and also have a ql181 Superior Pow Bow... my AS damage caps at the 13k more than the Sapp in PVM, but the Sapp has a faster AS recharge, and I tend to hit higher damage with it in pvp as opposed to the Pow Bow. last shot I remember taking with the Sapphistic was a 5100 damage Aimed Shot to an enforcer in a battlestation. which is weird, I am sure I saw that the damage cap was 30% or so.

anyway, i'd like to know how much aimed shot you need to cap recharge on aimed shot, and how long would that be?

thanks,
Nyoestro, RK1

not sure on exact numbers i think its abt 1600AS to cap and the 30% cap is 30% of there hp not 30% of the weps dmg
buttmuffin @ 2007-10-22 00:51
damage is halved in pvp, then capped at 30% hp
thPaladin @ 2007-10-26 10:58
specials not halved in pvp i took 13k FA in my enfo once
houserocker @ 2007-11-05 20:13
Specials damage IS halved in pvp, but the hardcaps are not. Because of the way it works it might not be obvious. For example -

In PVM an agent uses AS and hits a 18 multiplier when a "1x" AS is 3000 damage. 3000*18 = 54,000. But there's a hardcap obviously, so he hits for 13,000 and doesn't think about the potential damage he is missing.

In PVP that same agent hits an 23 multiplier when a "1x" is 3000 damage. 3000*23=69,000. First the damage is halved, half of 69,000 is 34,500. Then the hardcap is applied and the offending enforcer takes an AS of 13,000 up his arse. Although pvp damage halving has occurred in the second step, the result is the same - or appears to be such.

It's all based on the order in which these steps take place, which is up to FC of course. If they made it check hardcap first and then halved damage AS would cap at 6500. However this change would only benefit people with 22k+ HP, so statistically only a small percentage of the AO population and therefore not a big concern I would guess.

would help enfs/some keepers/solds (maybe some docs?)
