Item Database - Yatamutchy Movement Predictor -Xl1

Yatamutchy Movement Predictor -Xl1 Icon #99267 This nice Head-Up Display installment helps to eliminate range distortion by projecting a predicted movement pattern, like a ghost image, on top of what you see. This can increase the range of your weapon as you know where your target will be.

I'm currently using a QL166 (modify weapon range 41) with a pair of blinded blackbirds (range 20m) and am wondering if I would see any benefit upgrading to a QL200 as I understand that Range in AO is capped at either 50m or 60m?
houserocker @ 2006-05-12 20:21
It doesn't add 50 meters range, but rather 50%. So using a QL200 Movement Predictor with a weapon with 20m range results in an effective range of 30m. Weapons, like nanos, are capped at 40 meters range.

stupid caps, want to hit thongs from 1km away with snipers :(
ScorpiXz @ 2006-08-10 22:56
guess you need strong PC to set the character view distance high enough then :-p
Voriuste @ 2006-11-18 17:30
Weapons are _NOT_ capped at 40m range, only nanos are.

There is no hard cap on weapon range as such, however there is a cap on the distance you are able to see a character (ie, target em and walk away until their name disappears) - that would thus be the limit for weapon range. But its definately larger than 40m capped nanos ;)
zathariel @ 2006-11-28 21:48
Im pretty sure everything is capped to 40m. Monsters see in a field of 40x40m.
Voriuste @ 2007-01-25 16:38
Trust me, its not, go give a NT a weapon and pump up the +weapon range, NT nukes are easily hardcapped at 40m range with all the +range% stuff NTs use (buffs, ncu item, etc), find out how far away it is til they just cant nuke you, then have em try using the weapon... weapon will hit (try with a long range weap, like a yatamutchy or something which has 35m range on it) then this baby for 52.5m range, the weapon will hit :)
Ilikebunnies @ 2007-05-02 06:24
So if you use this on a melee weapon with 2m range.. it'll have a 3m range. Yay?
Rapt0r @ 2007-05-25 02:03
yapp
Heltfeil @ 2008-01-30 11:58
Voriuste, weapons are also capped at 40m. The difference is that the range is measured to different points on the target, so weapons get a slight advantage.
Threeze @ 2008-02-23 13:16
is it just me or does that not make sense.... explain more please
Anim @ 2009-11-15 09:07
It makes perfect sense, I know I'm commenting on an old comment here, but it makes sense, it's most noticable on "very tell" style mobs, for example, the night heart in pande, or even on one of those very large unredeeemed bosses, you'll see nukes aiming for the *very top* of a mob, and not at their feet, so since these mobs are taller, there's a difference as to how far back an NT can stand, compared to an Agent. Both weapon and nano range are capped at 40m, trust someone who's played level 220 on both professions :p
