Triceratroll @ 2005-01-19 19:32

Talan @ 2005-03-23 04:08

Alsherry @ 2005-05-27 21:48
2 plz here...
Moniker @ 2005-07-19 01:16
Its good for casting on other people, for twinking on weapons, espically good given the low reqs on it.
olezero @ 2005-08-31 17:58
yea, its good to buff others to get weps equipped.. but WHY give it to fixers ?!? o.O
LeoMaster @ 2005-08-31 19:09
Also are fixers really supposed to attack like assassin and hired agents? Trap disarm, picklock, sneak attack... O_o, sounds to me like a rogue/theif to me, :).

I thought fixers were... fixers, lol.
LeoMaster @ 2005-08-31 19:09
*sorry type: rogue/thief.
scorpious_86 @ 2005-09-23 12:24
Fixers are are considerd Hackers....that is why the lock pick and stuff
Hugeframe @ 2006-01-05 21:11
Why give this to any proffession except Shade?
Should be generic ...
Yurdle @ 2006-01-10 22:24
Well, fixers are also considered people who help others "fix" their lives, usually from a variety of black market stuff. This nano is probably good for casting on others.
Shojumaru @ 2006-01-18 13:34
Not to bad to buff the occasional advy or shade... Uber fun to just ninja it on people crowding outside FT.
Yakobo66 @ 2006-05-26 22:42
lol, someone was seriously smoking something when they made fixer nanos
Sicluded @ 2006-06-01 06:28
Obviously you haven't read the dev days diary. They aren't smoking just to busy eating ice cream and avoiding Marius. http://forums.anarchy-online.com/showthread.php?t=206101&highlight=tier
leite @ 2006-06-01 16:29
Well fixers have this buff because they are suppose to FIX other person problems hehe. In this case some1 who have a lack of sneak atack ;P
Retracnad @ 2006-06-08 14:14
Fixers are theifs, hackers and downright shadey people, they will stab you in the back if they think they can make any credits
kiwifruit13 @ 2006-08-05 16:00
fixers are supposed to get other pll what they need if u read the start up and this is 1 of the nanos which does just that
Mr_H8 @ 2006-08-08 05:45
stupid nano to give fixers.
did FC forget they loved advies for a moment? did they have something in their eye when they tried to prof assign this?
hehe.
wintypes @ 2006-11-02 20:46
A good opportunity to earn money with buffing others
Vabla2 @ 2008-04-28 00:21
Money? What money? In two years of playing AO I saw someone wanting it 2 times at max. Probably less... WTB +evades on it ;)
Shiare @ 2008-06-07 08:34
Well apparently, Fixers do have summon melee weapon nanos (however useless they may be). They also get one of the lowest costing skills in concealment. Lets consider someone may want to be unorthodoxed and just maybe make a melee fixer...cause you know, well we can do that. yeah the IP expense will be insane, but that's the great thing about AO, you don't have to be a carbon copy of everyone. Remember, games are about fun, not just being uber, super twink, I want to be the best ever.

Therefore, any buff that any profession gets is only useless if that profession does not have "Any Use at all" for the skill that the nano buffs. Last time I checked, every profession in the game can use any weapon you like and therefore, this buff is then good for that reason.

People, think outside the box a little and stop assuming that fixers run around with GSF, wielding SMG's, wearing GA, hacking everything in site and whatever else the common fixer does. I mean I made a melee agent that uses sneak attack (agent's have the lowest cost to raise sneak attack other than shades I believe)....and agent doesn't even get a sneak buff...but guess what, you can FP fixer, use this buff and still have access to fixer and agent buffs...so it's an alternative to FPing another profession that gets sneak attack buffs (I beleive advy is the one, not sure atm).

Bottom line, this game allows us to take our fixer (or your chosen profession) on any path you so desire...therefore, all nano's your profession gets is useful...maybe not practical in everyday use...but for the few who want to be different, this could be for them......also who knows why FC chose sneak attack over other types of buffs...but guess what, live with it, like or hate it...it's there....use it or stop complaining ;)

But classes have bonuses for a reason, and the nanolines are supposed to support whatever the class was designed to do. Soldier for example has mostly green ranged skills, and not surprisingly it gets nanolines that buff ranged skills. Giving them melee nanos wouldnt make any sense--likewise giving a class with bonuses to SMG a sneakattack nano doesn't make much sense either.

Anyway this thing apparently predates SL, so shades werent invented yet and I guess they figured adv/enfo had enough melee buffs as it is. And most classes do have one or two random targeted nanos meant for buffing others.
Vilevictor @ 2008-12-30 10:56
lol i just pop this on my MA buddy in BS to help his Flabbergaster hit a bit harder.

O.o that sounds soooo wrong...
Binarybot @ 2009-02-26 22:18
I was under the impression that this nano was left over from beta, when fixers were a melee prof. Could just be an urban myth, though.

Agents also get a sneak attack buff on their rifle nano... now explain that one heh. Maybe "sneak attack" was just the term used to mean "an attack while concealed, melee or ranged" much like Heavy Weapons can be found on both melee and ranged nanos.
