He paused as his hand drifted across the dark steel walls, fingers lightly set upon its cold surface and trailing. For only a moment - for simply the briefest of spans - it seemed so strange, so foreign, so... wrong. Fear and disgust and pulsed throughout him, hand recoiling as though the fires of hell burned within its metallic surface. But then a voice, snapping him from his silent reverie and despair, called out from from just beyond the darkened corridor ahead, and his purpose became renewed.
