Well, basically welcome the MP now to the next evade prof with this bad boy, and on top of that you still get access to the 'support' nanos, but it's really a shame those nanos suck so hard compared to this beast....get RRFE and a good reflect setup and you can walk around with enough reflects to get called in mass pvp and the doctors have no problems keeping you standing....cos you're only seeing damage in the triple digits at best.

WTB 1hb love tho, they're waaay behind the pack now.

Wow, the reflect on this is like soldier reflects right? 30%, not 30 damage.

I'm going to have to reskill for 2HB, this is just too good to pass up.

yeah, mp can make alot of evades with my keeper it took 3.2-3.4K AR to perk reaver onto an mp... and only did 400-600 dmg when the mp had the shield and rrfe, though it does nerf their dmg output ALOT vs evade profs. No AS:)

if i were to face an evade prof in PvP i would swap shield out...... and if there were more then the evade prof there i wouldnt bother with them...

No they really have not, that is why people are complaining. We are aware that you don't get to use AS with this shield, still you can run around as debuff totem while your pets chew on us (yes they do hurt even if pet classes don't want to admit it). Where other profs got scaled upgrades of existing nanos, for many profs useless upgrades they didn't want, MP's got a brand new feature, 30% reflects just out of the sky. Fire reflects on other shield could be avoided by changing your damage, this can't. Now tell me who is "lub child proff".

Lal, I have a TL7 MP and for pvp I'd rather use bow tbh... when I've been testing this shield I calculated my total def, which is 3,8k without the evade device, but I had too much NR and I couldn't cast SS on myself anymore (or 1/5 :/) and as AS doesn't check def and can go through reflect : O every 11 sec > shield MP (or backstab or SA from some cheated nub-adv / shade) and strangely, I can't stand using this shield even if it's extremely cheated, I'd rather get my 11 sec AS + alb arrows than this.

Yes they do, the Prisonner robe got nerfed by half for that.
Tthe only features they got since start, MPs were the forgotten proff for while, before LE, and even a bit after ,all ppl reset skills on their MPs and made them tradeskill mule.
For the debuffs part, all MPs debuffs r 100 % NR check with 50 % of them with a big recharge time that u have to recast many times to land,
MP pet have the crapiest AR, not counting they are always rooted snared and calmed ( or u r confusing engies bot with 4.7 k AR, with snare and -1 k AR auras)
For the brand new features, i will tell u again, check since AO started what upgrades MPs got, the fact that they got some love last patches doesn t mean they r lub child, it s only filling the big gap MPs got in their tool set, and i ll tell MPs arent FC lub child
Crat can have up to 4 k def, keepers have around 3.2 3.5 K def, ......, even NT s are running around with 3 k def. ANd if u have an image of 5 210 -215 ppls in BS chasing an MP to kill him, try to look at 6 220s trying to kill and advy, ask some advies they ll tell themselves that they can survive 4 AS, same exemple of lub child can be given with keepers, soldiers...

Yeah, crats can get 4k def. Now tell the whole story: MP's can get 4k def, 30% reflects and a healpet on top. Crat is only missing reflects and heals then I guess (uh and blockers). Advys need ~5 bills tossed in equip to be gods, same for many other profs. MP's need 850 2hb and a quest. This is not balancing, this is the way FC always overdo their balancing by making new OP stuff, like they did with advs and keepers with SL. You are now together with some other profs the new love childs who can rock without skills. Get used to it and enjoy it while it lasts instead of trying to deny it ;)

Many proffs got reflect, an even higher than MPs one (not talking about soldiers here), and if crats get blockers and reflect and heals, the heal pet heals once or 2 in pvp ( 6 sec befoer it dies), they should also get coon TMs and CH. make it 8 bill atm on RK one for MPs and they r still far from advies. adn u need alot of skills to be viable in pvp as MP ( and plese tell me what u mean by skills, cause today mongo rage is considered as a good skill :P), adn it s not denial, is an ansewer for those playing big alpha proff and can t get the idea of a porpeffion in the other side of the specter ( being 100 % defensive)

Advies and keepers are not top of the food chain in PvP anymore. That is an argument from 2005, get used to 2008 when they are passed by soljas, NT's and MP's. And for 100% defensive: Go check the duel statistics of shield MP's. Those who are stupid enough to duel them usually lose. You don't win immediately in duels but you eventually win. As for mass PvP you won't get the kill counts yourself as shield MP unless you are in team, but your debuffs will be one of the main reasons for people dying while you yourself is untouchable. Or did you want instakills to go with your immortality?

The thing is: where the non LE-lub childs need to press a lot of buttons, some professions get tons of passive tools they just need to buff themselves with. I admit that soljas are even worse as they get both high passive def (ridicolous reflects and good healdelta) and off, but MP's and NT's are not far behind with their "I win buttons".

I don't see what the argument is here...

MPs are not the best PvP prof, but they just got a lot better with the addition of this shield. This shield is amazing, you cant debate that, but its not exactly an instant win, because if people manage to kill your heal pet and mezz pet, youll still probably die faster than they will...

Trying to remember max reflects you can wind up with (OSB and selfed):

Zset - 30
Reflect Graft - 13
Reflect Bracers - 7 to 3-4 ac types
Active (you gotta activate 'em)
Notum Shield - 15%, need to be nanomage tho, and perk nanomage second gen 10 , Will of the Reanimator, gives 15% damage to nano (seems to stack with reflects, from what I've heard.) will suck if you don't have much nanopool tho.

Total selfed reflects: 80% damage negation to 3-4 acs, 73% to rest at full maximum (the Will nano lasts 15 seconds, if I'm right.) 65% and 58% without Will nano running.

Zset - 30
RRFE - 30 (28 in SL if you're teaming a sol)
Reflect Bracers - 7 to 3-4 ACs
Notum Shield (same note, nanomage only) 15% reflect
Will of Illusionist - 15% damage to nano, short duration.

Total OSB at full maximum: Unknown for sure, 97% in 3-4 ACs can be reached with 90% for the rest, the unsure part comes from trying to figure out if Guardian perk works on top of RRFE or overwrites it. if it works on top of RRFE then you have over 100% in all reflect ACs, if not then the previous numbers are the likely absolute maximum you can get for reflects for a shield MP.

Take a moment, go to bathroom, crap yourself. Come back and remember that for all that godlike reflects, one NT can wipe the floor with you if they can land their doubles/triples.

Forgot the soli projectile reflect HUD toy that gives a few points but you gotta be soli and you gotta give up a HUD/UTI slot for it, but I determined that the Nanomage Secondary Genome perk would be better (15% reflect perk action, can be used when needed but has a low break chance (10% on hit) and eats your nano at 500 per second while it's up. If you're using the Will of the Illusionist, you've maxed nanopool anyways.) the HUDs and utils can be saved to up your AAD and keep your nanodeck on.

For a while I'd said that NM shield MP was the new trox melee advy, this is why. I haven't researched opi/trox options for reflects and I don't think there'll be much if anything so this is your optimal setup for trying to reach maximum reflects/damage negation. Combine this with damage debuffs and you'll probably be able to walk over almost everything in game, since you have healing options (SS perk actions and healpet) that the other serious reflect prof (Soldier) doesn't have.

The one drawback is you can't use the wrists from alb/DB for more damage/hp/BoC effect, but if you want to go full reflect then this is how you do it.

Did some research over the time and realized that my numbers were slightly off: The Will of the Illusionist does Damage-to-Nano, which works completely differently from reflects and in most cases will not stack with them. Have not managed to test to see if the Will effect will stack with the others but it's safe to assume until otherwise noted that the maximum numbers for reflects you can get as shield MP are the numbers posted WITHOUT Will of the Illusionist running.

True current numbers for maximum reflects:

Selfed: 30 (Zset) + 13 (graft) + 7 (bracers) +15 (Notum Shield) = 65% reflects to 3-4 ACs, 58 to rest during Notum Shield, 50 and 43 otherwise.

OSB: 30 (Zset) + 30 (RRFE) + 7 (bracers) + 15 (Notum Shield) + 20 (Guardian) = 95% reflects with 102% to 3-4 while Guardian and Notum Shield are both running (This is assuming they will both run together) 67% and 60% otherwise.

Assuming Will of the Illusionist will even RUN with reflects in your NCU their position in the chain of damage negation is AFTER reflects and after you've taken damage, so assuming an agent manages to hit you with a capped hit through all these reflects (would be a several million point AS to do that) the Will nano will divert 15% of the pvp capped hit to nano, after all is said and done. It's still more damage negation, but it doesn't work on the same level that reflects does.

And that is where the Agent Professional chimes in, and explains about AS.

Couple million points AS damage is not going to happen. AS damage is first halved for pvp, then hardcapped at 13k, next reflects are applied, then 30% comes in, then DtN takes its turn reducing damage.

So, with 75% reflect (counting Guardian is silly) to the corresponding AC type you'll be hit with a 3250 AS at most, whereafter DtN takes its turn reducing damage, landing the final max AS damage at 2763.

That is assuming you have 11k hp or more, else the 30% cap would further reduce damage.
