well you guys r obviously not playing long enough to have noticed all perks do nanobot dmg

Perks do nano damage but are not affected by nano damage modifiers. Proc damage (from weapons, LE procs, perk procs, etc) are affected by nano damage modifiers (such as Acumulator from Traders). And of course, nanos (including item-activated nanos like ring nukes) are affected by nano damage modifiers.
