For a long time the Redeemed managed to occupy a large part of Adonis, but it was always obvious that they would not be able to hold it forever. Yet, when the day came and a big, Unredeemed force attacked, they were caught by surprise. They managed to make their retreat as a group, but the Unredeemed were many, heavily armed and fast. In the end the Redeemed had no other choice than to escape into the lake, that was a small lake at the time.
At the beach by that lake there was a tower, and in that tower Lamal hid himself. When the main Unredeemed force came close he used all his powers and his magnificent, self-made weapon. For a while he kept them in check, but when Jogaro-Nach the Great came he made the tower crumble, Lamal fell down and the Unredeemed could enter the lake. Though, it was too late; the Redeemed had escaped.
The next night two Redeemed scouts snuck back to the tower to find the remains of Lamal. He was about to die, but they succeeded in capturing an essence from his spirit. From that they made this appliance, that can be used to turn one of the weapons of the Unredeemed against themselves.
