does this only drop from the lvl65 Gartua? the others dont seem to have it.

I think you may be confusing him with the spiders. Gartua is a named mob, a trox, guarding the chamber of Aztur in ToTW. Very rare drop though

funny thing is, i got this first drop on my enf and first drop on my agent. i've never seen his corpse without this on it :P

i used to always find one when someone needed in my teams when i played with my keeper

just get a high team level, itll drop hardcore.

So you have a better drop-chance if you're in team, than solo?

I've killed Gartua loads of times - mostly team - and never seen this item.

If you solo things in totw it appears to be that rare drops drop more. Got this on 3rd try when soloing doorkeeper. lvl 40ish MA

i managed to get this while camping GoT. All the times i've camped doorkeeper, it never drops, but as soon as i'm only 'passing by' it drops. Funny old world :P

Team level, nor soloing affects your drops. I know that, because ARKs, BugHunters etc. can look into the "inventory" of a mob (that is, what it drops when it gets killed). If they can see what is in it, I don't think that the drops it has got will change by your team level or solo-age.

AKA: Just plain luck for the normal player!

this imp dont worth it for me it squiz the 2he faded cluster that go in waist and this imp dont have a 2he modifier (for a normal keeper) maybe worth it for enfos... is this implant usable? like notum splice by NT?

its not unusuable intrus. Only way to buff Str from waist.

Used it before on my keeper (opi), and it rocked, Used it till I got a viable symb to rep it.

Used it on almost all my chars, even my fixer.

Now camping it for my enfo. But no luck atm.

Btw, its' very nice for opi people in general, as it buffs str and stam, which are always useful for tier or other armor.

Finally! Week of camping and i got it.

got it by luck on my lowbie doc. Nice for twinking, it gives the same stamina buff as a ql 100 imp, but has only the reqs of a ql 80 one :D

My enforcer must have killed Gartua 70-80 times with no drop, then while running my new NT through the temple, it drops on her first kill of Gartua just a few weeks ago.

These posts are a wonderful example of how media can sometimes present things in a way that warps reality. The reality is that this is a fairly rare drop, but since it is human nature for the lucky ones to want to post about thier good fortune, the forum thread then paints a picture where practically everyone gets the drop. What you don't see are posts from the other 99% that never saw it drop no matter how long they camped it.

I agree, the only thing a team effects on rare drops is that either
(A) someone is going to ninja it, and you will have kill that mob another 60 times just to have another chance at it.
or
(B) you have to roll for the item and you now have a 1 in 6 chance that if you even see it that you will get it. And odds are it will then end up in the hands of a noob NT who keeps killing himself because he still doesn't know the difference between AoE nukes and standard nukes, and will most likely end up just deleting this a month later for inventory space.

I still dont understand why everyone wants this item so badly. It is really not that good.

Oke good item to show to other people but thats all. For people that camp it 60 times plz lvl further up and equip ql 150/200 in no time.

@guarenas: The only way to buff str on waist slot is to use this imp. So it is even more important on higher levels when you need to buff up str for few more points to get that endgame armor/symb on...

@Guarenas: could be camping it for an alt? maybe a certain level locked one?

confirmed drop on this a few weeks ago. saw someone loot, but idc there are better waist imps. like for instance, anyone who uses shotty/piercing/anything in the waist other than max hp/stam.

4 bm aint worth it

actually the add to strength makes this very nice and is a good piece for some low level twinks. Just make sure you grab it fast because as I was waiting for my low level alt to get there and pick it up it disappeared within 4 minutes :(

An org mate looted this a few days ago on his first try while I lost track of how many hours I spent trying to get it.

I must have killed Gart at least 30+ times for this and still nothing... I must be really unlucky

30 times? dont make me laugh, this takes about 2 weeks to drop, 3~ hours a day worth of farming.
Farmed on my froob agent eons ago, never rly used but it brings up memories ;)

Apparently with the release of 18.7, this received a somewhat higher drop rate, along with Skull of the Ancient. Have fun :)
